Nobody sends home a reminder about the 100th day of school. It just appears in the newsletter one Wednesday afternoon, and suddenly you've got three days to sort an outfit.
So let's start with the bit that actually causes the panic.
When is 100 Days of School in Australia?
There's no single national date, and that catches a lot of parents out. The 100th day is counted from your child's first day of the school year, so it moves depending on your state, your school's term dates, and any student-free days along the way.
In practice, it lands near the end of Term 2 or in the first few weeks of Term 3. With Term 3 getting underway across the country through mid-July, most 100 Days celebrations fall from late July into August. Prep and Foundation classes tend to make the biggest deal of it, though plenty of schools run it right up through the lower primary years.
The quickest way to know for certain: check your school newsletter or ask the office. Most schools lock the date in weeks ahead, they just don't always shout about it.
Count-up designs, for the kids who want to see all one hundred
There's a whole category of 100 Days design built around actually showing the number, and it's the one that gets pointed at in the playground. A rainbow count from 1 right up to a big bold 100. A grid of one hundred monster trucks. A badge ringed with one hundred tally marks, one for every day counted off together.
Kids love these because they can stand there and count them. That's the entire appeal, and it's why they photograph so well on the day.
Slogan tees with a bit of swagger
If your kid would rather wear the attitude than the arithmetic, the slogan designs do the job. A T-Rex in sunnies who roared his way through. A dino behind the wheel of a monster truck who crushed it. A tractor that ploughed through. A game controller reading Level 100 Completed.
These are the ones that suit a kid who's over being called little. Same milestone, none of the cutesy.
For the kid who's very online
Some designs only land if you're in on the joke, and school-aged kids absolutely are. "In My 100 Days Of School Era" leans into the era phrasing they use for everything. And if the 67 thing has taken over your house the way it's taken over most classrooms, there's a design built entirely around it, and another that splits the hundred into 67 plus 33.
Parents will need it explained. That's rather the point.
Teachers get one too
One hundred days is a teacher milestone as much as a student one, and the staffroom photo is going up either way. There are adult sizes across most of the designs, plus a few made specifically for the front of the classroom, from a minimalist braver, brighter, stronger badge to a natural tee scattered with one hundred rainbow hearts.
