A matching dad and me outfit is one of those things that looks completely effortless in a photo and takes about two minutes of thought to get right. We print a lot of them, which means we also see the questions that come in just before someone hits order. Here's what actually matters.
The two pieces are ordered separately, and that's the good part
Most of our matching designs aren't sold as a fixed bundle. You choose the adult piece with its size, style and colour, then add the matching kids piece or baby bodysuit as a second item. It's an extra thirty seconds at checkout and it buys you a lot of freedom.
It means you can put a men's tee with a toddler tee, or a men's tee with a baby bodysuit, in different colours if that's what suits. Big Mate and Little Mate works exactly this way, and so does Big Trouble Little Trouble. It also means one dad can match with two or three kids, which is the version most families actually want.
Pick your colours
Lock in your garment colour and the print colour across both pieces. Most of our range now runs the same core colours through baby, kids and adult, so a black adult tee and a black baby bodysuit will sit together properly in a photo.
Where people go wrong is the print. White lettering on one piece and black on the other reads as two separate outfits, even when the garments match perfectly. Hold one print colour across the set and it looks deliberate. If you want a specific colour confirmed in a specific size before you order, message us and we'll check it for you.
Designs that work at every age
The best matching designs have a built-in hierarchy, so they still make sense whether the little one is six months or nine years:
If you want names on both pieces, the Daddy and Me huntsman spider shirts and the tiger shirts with custom names are the ones to look at. Personalised sets are the ones that get kept, not just worn once.

Get the sizing sorted before you order
Every piece is printed to order, so sizing is the one decision worth slowing down for. Australian kids' sizing usually tracks a child's age, and for adults we'd recommend measuring a tee you already like and comparing it against our size charts. For an oversized women's fit, the Staple tee runs longer through the arms and body than the Maple.
If a size or style combination doesn't appear in the dropdown, it isn't available in that range, and we'll tell you before we print rather than after. Liliane found that out on her matching order: "their customer service team reached out immediately to let me know they did not stock baby t-shirts for the size I was after and couldn't update this in time before I placed the order. They gave me few options and shipped the two t-shirts immediately."
If it's his first one
